Senior Pastor

Terry Candler

Senior Pastor Terry Candler began full time as the Associate Pastor for Emmanuel in August of 2003. In September, 2010, he was called as the Senior Pastor. He is married to Denise and they have two daughters (Sydney and Sophey) and one son (Simon). Pastor Terry graduated from Carson Newman College with a B.A. in Religion (1989) and from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity (1996). His favorite hobbies include bicycling, fitness training, reading, and hanging out with family.

Associate Pastor (Worship)

Andrew Mielke

Worship Pastor Andrew Mielke oversees the planning and implementation of the worship services at Emmanuel. He was born in Papua New Guinea, where his parents were missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators, and was raised in rural Alaska, where his father served a multicultural congregation as pastor. Andrew has been on staff with Emmanuel since June of 1998. He graduated from Eastern Oregon University with highest honors, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Music, and WSU where he graduated with honors, and received a Master of Arts in Music. Andrew also works at Pullman High School where he directs the award-winning choral program. He is married to Michelle, who is a member of the Washington State University music faculty and a concert pianist. They have two beautiful children, Daniel Danger and Lily Glee. Andrew also serves as a HOME Group leader, teaches Sunday Morning Bible Studies, meets regularly with other men in mentoring situations, and often gets to share the message on Sunday mornings. In his free time, Andrew collects musical instruments, is an avid reader, watches college football, and listens to a lot of music.

Associate Pastor (Youth)

Eric Lockhart

Eric Lockhart serves as our youth pastor. He has been on staff since June 20, 2009. Eric attended Williams Baptist College in Arkansas where he received his BA in Christian Ministry and met his wife, Rebekah. Eric and Bekah have been married for 9 years and have 4 boys: Elijah, Noah, Gavin, and Corban. Eric is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He enjoys hanging out with his family, having fun, reading, and theology.

Associate Pastor (Internationals)

Bob Harvey

Pastor to Internationals Bob Harvey was born in Eunice, NM and graduated from Eastern New Mexico University, Golden Gate Seminary, and the University of Arizona. He served for 40 years as a campus minister in Arizona, Tennessee, Missouri and Washington. 27 of those years were at WSU. After his retirement, Bob joined the church staff as pastor to Internationals. He has been married to his wife, Colleen, since 1963 and has two children: Kim and Kevin. He also has five grandchildren.

Director of Children’s Ministry

Jenny Reed

Children’s Ministry Director Jenny Reed has been serving at Emmanuel since October 1, 2009. She is married to Jeff, who is a Business Analyst at SEL. They have three sweet children, Mya, Troy and Hailey! She began attending Emmanuel in 2005. Her role in Emmanuel is to encourage, support, oversee and develop current and new children’s ministry programs offered for children birth to 5th grade. Jenny’s hobbies include: organizing, planning events, scrapbooking, reading, and spending quality time with her family. She is excited to serve God and to be the newest addition to Emmanuel’s staff.

Office Manager

Jacqueline Southwick

Office Manager Jacqueline Southwick has served at EBC since June of 2006. She and her family have attended Emmanuel since August of 2002, where her son, Sean, and daughter, Nichole, grew up active in youth ministries. Her husband of 24 years, Kevin, works at WSU’s Student Rec Center and enjoys playing drums in the praise band whenever he has the chance. Jacqueline stays busy in the office providing support for various ministries, maintaining the website, and keeping the books. She loves helping coordinate opportunities for fellowship and ministry outreach, such as Emmanuel’s Lentil Festival booth, annual block party, family movie nights, women’s events, and being in a community where she can attend WSU in the midst of it all. Feel free to stop by the office, grab a cup of coffee, and say hi!

Office Assistant

Lia Wilson

Lia Wilson, our office assistant, and her husband, Kelly, have lived in Pullman since they were married in 1991. Their twin daughters, Quinn and Sinclair are active high schoolers, and their youngest daughter, Taite, is busy in middle school. Their family began attending EBC following the devastating terrorist attack of 9/11/01, and this led to the salvation of the entire family. Lia is very active in ministry support, enjoys reading mysteries, knitting, and women’s ministry events.

Custodian

Jim Sirotzki

Christopher Cox has been attending Emannuel Baptist Church since 2005 and has been active in several youth ministries over the years. He is engaged to Katie McMillan and will be married in June of 2012. Christopher enjoys working with children, meat, listening to books, and spending time with family and friends.
